Lispole

Ireland Map
Lispole
Lispole village near Minard Castle and the lovely Minard beach is a gateway to the Gaeltacht on the southern approach road. A viaduct from the once proud Dingle Steam Railway in Lispole stands as a reminder that this famous narrow gauge rail line was, in its time, an engineering marvel. This village, too, is the birthplace of the revolutionary poet and patriot Thomas Ashe. Now, the land-locked Dingle harbour and Dingle town itself beckon the visitor. The approach road from Castlegregory, Brandon and Cloghane and the northern shoulder of Corca Dhuibhne is via the awesome Conor Pass, a dramatic mountain pass through the Brandon Mountain range.
