Tory Island lies 10 miles out in the Atlantic. The island's remoteness has been a factor in the preservation of the native Irish language, traditions, songs, dances and way of life. The island has some spectacular cliff scenery, sandy beaches and pubs. Transport to and from the island is by ferry, the trip taking some 20 minutes. This is a year round service with ferries leaving every hour during the summer months.
