Clifftop trails, unspoiled
b e a c h e s
An Rinn and An Sean Phobal
have some of the most
beautiful, unspoilt beaches in
the South East of Ireland. An
Coinigéar in An Rinn, is
perhaps the most famous, and
when the tide is favourable, it
is possible to walk out along
the spit across Dungarvan
Bay, practically as far as
Dungarvan town, with
spectacular views.
Other popular beaches in An
Rinn include Baile na nGall
and the Cove in Heilbhic, a
lovely secluded, pebbled
beach near Heilbhic Pier.
More remote and secluded
spots include Faill a' Stáicín, a
quiet strip of sand, accessible
over a cliff walk, which is also
a very popular spot for on
shore angling.
Baile Mhic Airt Strand in An
Sean Phobal is less widely
known and therefore an ideal
place for a secluded picnic or
sunbathing. The rock
formations and coastal views
from this strand are truly
spectacular. Gleann Cairn /
Ballyquin strand boasts miles
of wide, sandy beaches.
