Oideas Gael was founded to promote the learning and use of the
Irish language and to foster Irish culture within the Gaeltacht and
elsewhere. Oideas Gael Irish language courses are specially
constructed to cater for the needs of adults, at all learning stages,
including those who are more advanced but in need of practice. Each
course contains three or more levels: beginner, intermediate and
advanced and is usually of one week's duration. The cultural activity
courses are organised in bilingual form, which makes them equally
attractive to people with little or no Irish. All courses offer
participants an un-paralleled opportunity to enjoy an activity holiday
within a rich cultural setting. Courses include hill walking,
archaeology, tapestry weaving, bodhrán playing, flute and whistle
playing, celtic pottery, Donegal dances, marine painting, environment
and culture.
